Poetry is art. Art is an expression of the artist – in this case, poet.
What is a poet’s voice? It is a style, tone, an essence that comes through in the work. It is something that happens through us – when we are in tune with it – and that others pick up on with their subtle senses.
But how do we capture that knowledge in order to engage it more fully and purposefully in our work?
In this 2-part workshop, through guided exercises, you will be led to Connect with your poetic voice and also have it Reflected back to you by your peers. With this combined knowledge, you will gain a deeper understanding of your unique poetic voice.
Please bring recent work (3-5 poems) that you have finished and feel represents your current work best. You will be working with these pieces both with yourself and with each other in a safe environment to help you discover the keys to your unique poetic voice.
Once you have registered, you will be sent an email detailing information about the Zoom link, a list of what to bring, and how to prepare.
